On Saturday around 240,000 people were told they must evacuate areas in sourthwestern Japan. Torrential rain has battered the area for three days in a row.
Emergency services have said that eight people still remain missing. The heavy rain has hit Kyushu causing the halting of bullet trains, the closure of expressways and severe blackouts.
More than 7,000 households and 240,000 people have been affected by this sudden storm.
