The just-released S.Pellegrino World’s Best 50 Restaurants list for 2011 has been released, and it’s good news for Japanese eateries Les Creations de Narisawa and Nihonryori RyuGin – both climbed up the rankings.

Aoyama restaurant Les Creations de Narisawa has maintained its crown as Asia’s best restaurant and climbed 12 places to 12th best in the world, while Roppongi restaurant RyuGin climbed 28 places and is now considered 28th best in the world.

The news will be welcome in Japan, where there are grave concerns about the damage to the nation’s international status worldwide in light of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The agriculture sector fears it will be particularly hard hit.
