Nintendo sold the highest number of video games in Japan in 2012, with “Pokemon Black/White 2” being by far its best-sold game, according to Media Create, a Japanese company that analyzes data from the digital entertainment industry.
“Pokemon Black/White 2” sold almost three million copies, while the rest of the top 10 best-selling chart looks also good for Nintendo. The company has six more titles in the chart, while eight of the top 10 games are released exclusively for Nintendo platforms.
Nintendo’s titles in top 10 best-sold video games in 2012 include “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” at number two with nearly 2 million sales, and “New Super Mario Bros. 2 “at number three with over 1.7 million copies sold – both released for the Nintendo 3DS, the international press reports.
The highest-selling game in Japan that wasn’t from Nintendo was “Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D” on the Nintendo 3DS. The game sold just under 1 million copies.
