Japanese football midfielder Shinji Kagawa, who plays in Germany for Borussia Dortmund, met Sir Alex Ferguson, the boss of Manchester United, for a two hour discussion which fuels rumours for a possible move of the player to the English club.
The information about the meeting was given by the Japanese player, who said that Ferguson had “good words” to say about him during the meeting, which took place in Manchester.
Kagawa still has a year left of his contract with Borussia Dortmund and has not signed an extension yet. He said he wants to “think hard” before making a decision about the future.
“It was good that I was able to meet him in person and talk,” Kagawa said about the meeting with the Scottish trainer of Manchester United.
The 23-year-old Japanese player scored 17 goals this season in all competitions for Dortmund. His team won a second consecutive Bundesliga title and the German Cup, scoring the first domestic double in the 103-year history of the club.
Ferguson was present at the German Cup final last Saturday in Berlin to watch Kagawa and Dortmund defeat rivals Bayern Munich by 5-2.
