American singer and song writer, Lady Gaga will be guesting in NHK’s New Year’s Eve musical program “Kohaku Uta Gassen” (Red and White Song Contest).
The appearance of Lady Gaga will include her singing and delivering encouraging messages in the wake of Japan’s devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami. NHK said the song and message will be recorded prior to the start of the show.
Lady Gaga held a concert in the country in July this year which aimed at generating money for the survivors of the March 11 disaster. She enthusiastically encouraged tourists to come to Japan and foster the country’s tourism as she was quoted saying “I can’t say enough to people all over the world that the majority of Japan right now, Japan in general, is very safe. It’s fine to come here. It’s beautiful.”
The pop diva just spent the holidays in the country. As soon as she arrived in Tokyo on December 20, Lady Gaga tweeted about her trip “Just arrived in Tokyo!”
The recording artist of international chart-topping singles that include “Born This Way” and “Poker Face” is set to return to the US on December 31st in time for her performance at the 40th annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
