Although this is from a while back, it still amazes me how they managed to build something like this. This is an interactive terminal that was in the Takashimaya department store located in Shinjuku. The “Digital Cosmetic Mirror” by Shiseido can be used to try out make-up and even recommendations without having to use a real mascara brush. This technology can be used to eliminate waste. Using augmented reality to do some sampling is no doubt a great way to get consumers involved with the technology.
To use this technology, all you need to do is sit down (or stand) in front of the device and let it scan your face. It will then give you some tailored options once it finishes scanning your face. When you press some buttons on the touch-screen, you’ll see that it will apply make-up onto your picture in real-time, and this allows you to see the outcome instantly. You will also have the option to print out a before and after picture including the product information which you can then consider purchasing.
