Sony Xperia Z, one of the most expected smartphones at the moment, is now available for purchase in Japan through NTT DoCoMo.
DoCoMo has already sent the gadgets to the fans who pre-ordered them, while the others will have to wait a little bit more, the international press .
Sony prepared a customized version of the Xperia Z for Japanese users, which is codenamed SO-02E. It comes with a One Seg Tuner, FeliCa NFC, infrared port and several localized software features. The smartphone runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform, but Sony promised an upgrade to Android 4.2 will be available soon after release.
Xperia Z is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card, the specialists report.
Users can choose from a Black, White or Purple Xperia Z, as these are the smartphone’s color versions available at the moment. Finally, Sony’s smartphone is both dust- and water-proof device.
The Xperia Z will most probably be released in Europe at the end of February, with wider availability to follow in March.
