‘Super Mario Bros 3’ gets 3DS release on New Year’s Day

supermario3Super Mario Bros 3 will be available as a digital download for Nintendo 3DS exclusively in Japan. The famous video game will be available through the Virtual Console service starting with New Year’s Day and it will cost Y500.

Super Mario Bros 3 will have tougher new level designs, rougher enemies, and tricky features such as  strong winds that blow Mario away.

The platform video game was released in Japan in 1988 and is considered to be one of the most famous games of all time.

Super Mario Bros 3 was later released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) as part of the Super Mario All-Stars collection and later the Game Boy Advance and Wii via Virtual Console.

Nintendo has not confirmed yet if the title will be released for 3DS in Europe or in the United States.
