Japanese artist Yoshiki is writing the theme song for one of the most anticipated and watched awards show for film and television. Barely a week before the glittering 2012 Golden Globe Awards, it has been announced that the famous drummer of the Japanese rock band X Japan and known as a songwriter and record producer is doing the composition which will be used for the opening of the show.
Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Dr. Aida Takia-O’Reilly refers to Yoshiki as a global musical artist and says the international organization is “delighted” for having the Japanese artist to compose the theme song for the prestigious awards committed to ingenious achievements.
Yoshiki who attended the Golden Globe Awards for the first time last year, was quoted sayingthat as a classical pianist and a rock drummer his composition would be both “beautiful and edgy” as a fitting tribute to the awards.
This year’s 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcasted on January 15 to over 190 countries and will be hosted for the third time by the British comedy actor Ricky Gervais who made a big controversy in last year’s hosting with his remarks that offended some of the stars. The show will start with the Countdown to the Red Carpet before the awarding ceremony at the posh Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The final list of nominations has been released by the HFPA in its official website.
